Toni Karge is a researcher and consultant in the fields of urban research and urban development. After studying urban and regional planning in Berlin and Oxford, specialising in urban planning, urban sociology and urban regeneration, Toni held various academic positions at universities in Germany and abroad. This included a teaching assignment for the seminar “Sustainable Transformation: New Open Spaces for the City” at Technische Universität Berlin, where he also served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning from 2015-2020.
Since 2019, Toni Karge has been serving as a Policy Advisor for Urban Gardening and the Productive City at the Berlin Senate Department for Mobility, Transport, Climate Protection and the Environment, within the office for Open Space Planning and Public Greenery. He has received multiple awards for his contributions to urban research and planning.
