Michelle Tshibola

Artist
A person stands against a draped curtain, wearing a dark outfit with long, textured hair extending outward. The setting is dramatic with a black and white color scheme, highlighting the pose and expression.

Michelle’s community-building practice intertwines art forms in a celebration of life, healing and self/collective-love: from electrifying performances to pole dancing, cabaret, body-building, movement direction and fashion design. They wield fierceness and sensuality as empowering strategies not only to defy, but ultimately to defeat the gaze of patriarchy. As the founder of the fashion brand TSM² and creator of Vénus Noire [Black Venus] – a black and queer troupe – Michelle is also a member of the Parisian voguing House of Ladurée.
