Elham Kashefi is Professor of Quantum Computing at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh, and CNRS Director of Research at LIP6 Sorbonne University, Paris. She is a pioneer in the fields of quantum cloud computing and the transdisciplinary interaction of quantum and classical computing. Her work ranges from theoretical investigation as professor all the way to actual experimental and industrial commercialisation as co-founder of VeriQloud, a quantum cryptography start-up. Elham has been awarded several UK, EU and US grants and fellowships for her work in developing applications for quantum computing and communication. She is senior science team leader of the UK’s Quantum Computing and Simulation Hub and member of the executive team of the EU’s Quantum Internet Alliance.
