Peter Danenberg

Software Engineer

Peter Danenberg is a Senior Software Engineer at Google DeepMind, where he leads zero-to-one development for Gemini — building the autonomous agents, creative tools and AI companions that have advanced from prototype to global production. Trained across computer science (University of Southern California), philosophy (University of Freiburg) and comparative literature (Harvard University), he approaches questions of AI intention, agency and power from both the inside of the machine and the broader humanistic tradition. His public work on AI ethics has taken him to the Oxford Institute for Ethics in AI, the House of Lords Westminster Technology Forum and the World Economic Forum in Davos, where he co-presented Are We Treating AI Unethically? with AI theorist Alexander Wissner-Gross. He co-created Little PAIPer with AI pioneer Peter Norvig — a Socratic dialogue platform that uses Gemini to replace textbooks with living, personalised inquiry.
