
Dr Barbara Cueto is an independent curator and researcher based in Berlin. Her work focuses on the intersection of contemporary art, digital culture and the politics of emerging technologies.
She has convened and curated projects at institutions like Photo Wien; C/O Berlin; InterAccess, Toronto; Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven; Fundación La Caixa, Barcelona; Moscow Museum of Modern Art for the 6th Moscow Biennale for Young Art in Russia; Asian Culture Center, Gwangju; La Casa Encendida, Madrid; Bétonsalon, Paris; Marres, Maastricht; Impakt Festival, Utrecht; and de Appel, Amsterdam. She has held curatorial and research fellowships at Singapore Art Museum, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul, and has also been resident at Tokyo Wondersite, Rupert in Vilnius and Cité des Arts in Paris.
Her book Worlds Otherwise. Rethinking Art, Value, and Resistance through Blockchain will be published with MIT Press in summer 2026, and she has previously co-edited Authenticity? Observations and Artistic Strategies in the Post-Digital Age with Valiz in 2017.
