Refik Anadol (b. 1985, Istanbul, Turkey) is a media artist, director, and pioneer in the aesthetics of machine intelligence.
Refik Anadol (b. 1985, Istanbul, Turkey) is a media artist, director, and pioneer in the aesthetics of machine intelligence.
He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California. Anadol is a lecturer and visiting researcher at the University of California Los Angeles’ Department of Design Media Arts. His site-specific audio-visual performances have been presented at, amongst others, the Hammer Museum (USA), International Digital Arts Biennial Montreal (Canada), Ars Electronica Festival (Austria), Istanbul Design Biennial (Turkey), Sydney City Art (Australia). He is the recipient of a number of awards and prizes including Microsoft Research’s Best Vision Award, German Design Award, SEGD Global Design Awards and Google’s Art and Machine Intelligence Artist Residency Award.
