Laure Prouvost's WE FELT A STAR DYING at Grand Palais
Following its premiere at Kraftwerk Berlin in 2025, WE FELT A STAR DYING by Laure Prouvost was presented at OGR Torino from autumn 2025 to spring 2026 and will open at Grand Palais in Paris on 10 June 2026 in a new iteration.
Realised in close collaboration with LAS, the presentation Nous, frissons d’étoiles (Eng. We, the Shiver of the Stars) at Grand Palais reconfigures the original installation. Displayed in the bright conditions of the building’s glass-roofed nave, it reads as an inverted image of the work conceived for the dark, industrial architecture of Kraftwerk Berlin. The multi-sensory environment combines video, sound, scent and sculptural elements.
Developed over two years with philosopher Tobias Rees and quantum scientist Hartmut Neven, WE FELT A STAR DYING translates the sensitivity and indeterminacy of quantum systems into something that can be felt. It invites us to encounter a reality shaped not by certainty, but by relation, probability and change.
Part of LAS’s Sensing Quantum programme, WE FELT A STAR DYING reflects an ongoing exploration of how artistic practice can open perceptual and conceptual pathways into quantum phenomena. Rather than explaining quantum computing, the work asks what it might feel like to encounter the world through its logic. Awarded the European Commission’s S+T+ARTS Grand Prize for Innovative Collaboration, the programme continues through presentations such as this, extending these works across international contexts and audiences.
WE FELT A STAR DYING by Laure Prouvost was commissioned by LAS Art Foundation and co-commissioned by OGR Torino.
The exhibition is produced by GrandPalaisRmn.
