WE FELT A STAR DYING: In Frequencies
Transcript with sound descriptions
Sounds come from all four speakers, layering and intertwining with each other.
A gentle piano melody plays quietly in the background overtop of different frequencies. There are also sporadic rustling and clattering sounds.
A recurring inhalation, as if to begin speaking, only to then decide against it.
Sounds using the mouth: quiet hissing, soft lip-smacking, muffled whistling, gasping, shushing.
Fragments of words are spoken by female voices: ‘felt it?,’ ‘oh–,’ ‘duc–’, ‘intuitio–,’ ‘a star is–,’ ‘at once–,’ ‘ye–.’ Sometimes these fragments cut over top of each other, creating the effect of a glitch.
Deep in the background, a poetic text is recited quietly by another female voice:
… Into a world stretched far
… Nothing so quantum
As becomes mankind
What is entanglement
What is meant
What if you enter
The forever present
A tango of random
Entangled in space
Limbs of cohesion
Swirls of no trace
A way with no centre
Clouds of maybes
A state with no near
That sounds always so far
We are twins
Entwine and combine
Lying on fire
Looking to dine
on the depths of the night
We are we
Who plunder energy
We are one
Lost with the sun
Faster than fast
We can go back
Back to the tears
Where joy adheres
faster than fears
We dream beyond stars
That shine from afar
A life beyond living
A life left ajar
We are we
Enclosed in our skin
We are we
Sustained as a twin
We are we
That comes from within
We are we
Always ready to begin
Colder than cold
Deeper than deep
Reaching the void
And feelings that weep
Reaching the depth
Reaching the void
All must restart
As we slip beyond sound
Beyond the rational
As we know it today
Going back
Going back
Back to before it was thought
There are no front tears
To sustain our fears
Only the sound
The sound that appears
avec plaisir

As it curves from grasp

As it goes away
