Exhibition Preview

Ian Cheng
Life After BOB

8 September 2022, 6 – 10 pm CET
Halle am Berghain, Rüdersdorfer Str. 70, 10243 Berlin

We are delighted to invite you to the exhibition preview of Life After BOB by artist Ian Cheng at Berlin's Halle am Berghain on Thursday, 8 September, 6–10 pm (last entry at 9 pm).

This cinematic art experience centres on Ian Cheng’s 50-min narrative film The Chalice Study. The first of eight episodes of the animation mini-series Life After BOB, it explores technology’s complex implications for desire and free will. In this LAS exhibition, for the first time, Cheng’s animated work is situated within a physical installation and accompanied by interactive elements that invite viewers on a psychological journey.

Doors open at 6 pm
To allow more people to take part in our exhibition preview, we are inviting you to a casual viewing of the film. So while there are 3 official screenings throughout the night starting at: 6:30 pm, 7:50 pm and 9:10 pm you might not want to view the entire film on this occasion. Therefore, everyone who will attend the exhibition preview gets a free ticket to revisit the exhibition and to watch the film in its full length at a later point during the run of the show.

Please note that the event ends at 10 pm, so the last entry for the exhibition will be at 9 pm. The cinema has a maximum capacity of 80 seats and we can therefore only permit a limited number of visitors inside the exhibition space. You can arrive anytime between 6–9 pm; however, we do advise you to stop by early in the evening to allow time for queuing up and to enjoy the bar outside at the Biergarten where we would like to invite you for a free drink.

The event is fully booked.
