A late summer gathering in the LAS Edition of Pollinator Pathmaker at the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin with a new sound commission and live sound by Tati au Miel, a sound walk by Omsk Social Club, a culinary gesture by Chelsea Turowsky, a curatorial tour as well as biodiversity and gardening workshops.

During Berlin Art Week 2026, LAS celebrates three years of Pollinator Pathmaker by Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg with performances, guided tours and workshops. The living artwork for pollinators was planted in front of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin in 2023. The project encompasses a series of living sculptures made of plants, as well as a participatory campaign. Over the past three years, LAS has supported the planting of DIY Editions of the artwork across all of Berlin’s districts and studied its positive impact on local pollinator species.

The Late Summer Gathering brings together longstanding and more recent companions of Pollinator Pathmaker. With a full day’s programme, the event invites visitors to spend time in the garden and explore different aspects of the artwork.

Following their 2024 Culinary Residency with LAS, Chelsea Turowsky will present a performative gesture reflecting on the mutable nature of relationships – between humans and ecosystems alike. It comprises three drinks and a text-based prompt, which will be served to participants throughout the day. In a new sound composition and live performance, Tati au Miel explores the tension between the living artwork outside the museum and the extensive insect collection housed within. For au Miel, the piece becomes a threshold between the dead and the living. Remaining accessible to visitors after the event, the piece joins Omsk Social Club’s 2024 sound commission Just Us, a hyper-performative wandering experience that unfolds through a score of sonic and verbal elements guiding visitors along the garden's hidden pathways.

The biodiversity workshop led by Kathrin Scheurich of Stadtnatur Berlin e.V. focuses on the importance of pollinator biodiversity in cities and how we can support it in our daily lives. In the gardening workshop, Sebastian Keller-Lewis of the Royal Garden Academy Berlin will offer practical insights into every stage of garden maintenance with a particular focus on soil life and its ecological interrelationships.
