Enter the Pollinator Pathmaker DIY Edition Contest
Generate a pollinator-friendly garden on pollinator.art and post it on Instagram for a chance to win plants worth up to 500 EUR.
Pollinator Pathmaker is a living sculpture made of plants. Unlike most gardens, this one is designed for pollinators’ tastes, not ours. Created by artist Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg, the artwork responds to the alarming decline of pollinating insects, which are vital for many plants to reproduce and ecosystems to survive. By participating in our contest, you have the opportunity to win your own DIY Edition of the artwork and support pollinators in your area.
How to participate
1. Visit pollinator.art to generate your DIY Edition garden (for a plot up to 1 m x 3 m)
2. Explore your generated garden, try out the aerial view, pollinator & human vision and create screenshots to share on Instagram.
3. Download your customised planting instructions.
4. Publish at least one image of your generated DIY Edition to your public Instagram account using the hashtags #PollinatorPathmaker and #LASDIYContest, and tag @las_artfoundation and @pollinatorpathmaker in the post.
5. Write a caption explaining why you'd like to be part of this project.
6. Follow @las_artfoundation and @pollinatorpathmaker on Instagram.
7. Submission ends 16 July 2023.

Why should I participate
Pollinating insects in Berlin include butterflies, moths, beetles, wasps and even flies. Pollinator Pathmaker is an algorithmic tool developed by Ginsberg that is based on extensive research into how pollinators sense and source food. It generates gardens that look different from those designed by humans to prioritise the needs of other species.
Each planted DIY Edition contributes to the artist's ambitious mission of creating the world's largest climate-positive artwork. Enter the contest today and become an essential part of the ongoing efforts to preserve pollinators.
Prizes
One winner will be awarded the plants needed to bring their DIY Edition to life (value up to 500 EUR, including shipping).
Terms & Conditions
By participating in the Pollinator Pathmaker DIY Edition Contest, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. The contest is open to residents of Berlin/Brandenburg aged 18 and above.
2. Winner will be selected at random and contacted via direct message on Instagram.
3. The winner will be required to provide their shipping details & plant list within two weeks from being contacted.
4. The plants awarded to the winners will be determined by the algorithmic tool pollinator.art and will have a total value of up to 500 EUR, including shipping.
5. The winner will ensure through documentation (posting on instagram) that the plants are planted according to the planting plan provided by the algorithmic tool pollinator.art.
6. The decision of the contest organisers is final and binding.
7. The contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by Instagram.
